Pharcyde have developed a tight style over the years, but I still think their first album - Bizarre ride II represented their true essense of having fun and taking the piss out of any normal style was true. Plain Rap is off tha hook, and I'm hookin' most of the tracks off that on my set, but the stupidity in some of the lyrics in the old dayz made them much more 'funny' to listen to. They still the best around (props to The Roots though, their organic flow keeps it real -big up Black Thought on Network). Peace Out

This latest piece Plain Rap is absolutely phenomenal... 10 out of 11 are tight!!!!! I knew the beats were going to be slick,, but I was suprised that the lyrics were mostly dealing with progession... Both the lyrics and the beats are tight... I've been bu ping this cd from day one.. Iwork at a small black college in Augusta, GA.. I'll definitely do my part and spread the word about this cd... I think it's between the Guestline or Evolution, but one of those beats sounds like it has a hint of the cut (Y) f om Labcabin cd... Hit me if I'm right... I've been listening to the Pharcyde since I saw them on In Living Color about 9 years ago. I heard them do Passin' me by and I was hooked. I bought Labcabincalifornia the day it came out. I wish people understood why I listen to the Pharcyde. They are dee , they make you think. I grew up in a mostley white area in the foothills of Sacramento, CA. I was not an outcast at all and people respected me, but they just could not figure out who or what the Pharcyde was because they wern't on the radio and they did 't rhyme about violence or gettin' it on with some ho. I am a pretty concervative person and I like the Pharcyde because they have something for everyone. I like their humor, I like their style, I like the way they think. I don't listen to any other rap a tists any more, my style of music has changed as I grow up, mostly alternative and classic rock and pretty much everything else, but I will not stop listening to the Pharcyde because of what they represent and how they keep it real. I wish there was some ay I could let them know that I appreciate what they do. I was not aware that they broke up so I am thankfull for this web site. Thanks Marion.
